Max Holmes, Senior Scientist from the Woods Hole Research Center in Massachusetts, travels to the ends of world to answer this question.  Dr. Holmes is also an advisor to the US Department of State on the Arctic’s role in global climate. From the Arctic to the Amazon, Holmes is at the forefront of researching what changes are happening and helping us understand why.  In a standing-room-only event, Dr. Holmes spoke to us about his recent work in the Arctic and his research on the amount of carbon in permafrost and the implications for the climate.   He also touched on the State Department’s reaction to his research.
