Sophie Glovier is an author, publisher and environmental activist focused on the community of Princeton, New Jersey. Her book, Walk the Trails In and Around Princeton has sold over 4,000 copies and raised over $10,000 for the maintenance of local trails. She is the publisher of Plant Local: Do-It-Yourself Native Plant Gardens. Sophie serves as a member of the Princeton Environmental Commission and is a current or past board member of D&R Greenway Land Trust, Friends of Princeton Open Space, the Stony Brook Millstone Watershed Association and Sustainable Princeton. The focus of her work is to educate and involve the community in the quest for sustainability. She works to motivate people to preserve and enhance Princeton’s natural environment, to conserve energy and reduce waste and to encourage them to advocate for politics which enhance sustainability in our community, our state and our nation. Sophie’s career begin in advertising, culminating in a position as Senior Vice President, Account Director at Young & Rubicam. She is a graduate of Princeton University and Columbia Business School and holds a Post Masters Certificate in Sustainability Strategy from The New School. She is the recipient of D&R Greenway’s Donald B. Jones Award and the Sustainable Princeton Leadership Award.
